Mission Minded….A Story of Grace

Stewardship activities can take place within the church, in our neighborhoods, or anywhere else that people can reach out to help others.   We all feel wonderful when we are able to help people for even a short amount of time.  In the case of Pearle Bowlsby, her volunteer work with Lutheran Hospital is currently entering its 19th year!

Pearle volunteers at the Lutheran Hospital from 8:00am-3:00pm, five days a week, and gets a significant amount of gratification from her efforts.  Her time is spent in the volunteer office, where she primarily maintains medical records and time sheets.  In addition to these activities, Pearle gets involved with dozens of other activities, including recording the receipt of flowers that are then delivered to patients.

Pearle has been a member of Grace for 50 years, and she has been active with numerous activities during those five decades.

From 1938 to the mid 1950’s, Pearle sang in the Grace Lutheran Choir.  (She say’s her voice wasn’t the best, but she sang Loud)!!  In 1955, Pearle was on the building committee that oversaw a major addition to the church.  She also stays active, today, by preparing acknowledgement letters to the generous people who give to memorial campaigns.

Pearle’s efforts during the past several decades have enhanced not only the church and hospital, but, also the lives of hundreds of individuals.  We all appreciate her special talents and selfless approach to life!
