Pumpkin Carving
Fellow Wiener Roasters,
Hope you each had a good time searching for the perfect pumpkin and carving. The results of your carving were magnificent. A big thanks to Renee and Bob for hosting our Fall outing at their farm home. Gloria and I had a great time.

Lutheran Campus Ministry
Who and What are
We?
Drake Lutheran Campus Ministry is
a Christian outreach of the Evangelical
It is a "congregational" outreach, as
we are related to Grace Lutheran
Church,
Des Moines where the campus pastor,
Rev. Don Rothweiler, is one of the pastors.
A campus ministry board of Grace
Members, former and present Drake
Students and staff oversee the ministry.
What do we do?
Campus pastor, Grace members,
Drake student peer minister(s), and
Drake students meet regularly for
Worship, prayer, scripture study,
meals, fun, fellowship, and support.
Who is invited?
It may sound trite to say, "All are
Welcome." Lutheran students away
from their home congregations are
our main focus. We seek to provide
a church home here in
for Drake students and their families.
Other mainline protestant Christians and
Roman Catholics have felt at home at
our gatherings. Seekers are also
welcome.
What do we
believe?
We subscribe to the beliefs of the great
Creeds of the whole Christian Church
(Apostles' and Nicene Creeds). We
welcome Christians with other
experiences, but the focus in all
that we do is moderate and mainline.
People are encouraged to share their
personal faith as an encouragement to
others.
What is Happening?
Drake Lutheran Campus Ministry
generally meets throughout the
academic year for the following
activities:
Grace worship: Sundays,
Midweek study, discussion,
Sienna/
National Lutheran Campus Ministry Gathering at Christmas break
in Moorehouse Hall lounge between
Lutheran twice to three times a year and gather for lunch with the congregation after services.)
Fun nights, table games, and seasonal
Interest and service groups such as
Discussions, presentations, and guests reflecting on current issues
and needs in the light of
Activities are subject to change based
on input from students, Cmpus Ministry
Board,
and the peer minister(s).
Whom do you contact?
One or two students
are appointed to
Serve as "Peer Ministers".
These are persons with experience
and interest in planning for the
ministry program and reaching out
to fellow students.
Rev. Don Rothweiler, donrothweiler@msn.com , is Campus Pastor.
As one of the pastors of Grace Lutheran, he
serves also as pastor to Drake students. He
is available for pastoral care, leads studies
and prayer groups, retreats, and also
conducts the congregation's puppetry and
drama ministry which welcomes Drake
student participation.
Six persons, mostly former and present
Drake students and staff who are members
of Grace, help plan for and manage the
ministry program. They are the campus
ministry board.
What can you
expect?
You can expect the graceful and supportive
presence of other people of faith who are
there for you as you continue to grow during
these Drake years into the person you were
created to be. We also maintain a special
contact ministry with students and
their families during finals, school breaks,
and other times of personal need. We hope
that at Grace you can find a bit of "a faith home away from home".
Come and be our
guest!!
