Ministry
Of Music
Music is an active part of the Ministry at Grace Lutheran. There are
several ensembles in which people may participate to help enhance
the worshipping congregation. Each group meets on a weekly schedule
during the Wednesday evening activities. The Elementary Bells
(grades 3-5) Meet from 5:30-6:00 p.m. The Youth Bells (grades 6-12)
meet from 6:00-6:30 p.m. The Grace Bells (high school through adult)
meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The Youth Choir (grades 1-5) meets from
6:00-6:30 p.m. The Chancel Choir (high school through adult) meets
from 7:45-8:45 p.m. The Grace Brass ensemble meets on Tuesday
evening from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and again between services on Sunday
morning. All the ensembles meet in music rooms in Msindo Hall. Each
of the groups provides music at various times of the month. There
are also opportunities to provide smaller ensemble music and solos
during the worship service. Liturgists, to help with the liturgy of
the service, have been added and opportunities are available for
those interested. The Youth Bells, Grace Bells and Grace Brass
present a Bells and Brass Concert during the Advent Season. Other
"special" music is added during Lent, Advent, Reformation Sunday,
etc., as the need arises. All of these ensembles are open to
everyone. Since music is so important to the worshipping
congregation, we hope that many people will take advantage of these
opportunities.
If you have any questions about the music program and/or
possibilities for you to participate, please contact Rich at the
church, 276-6873 or by e-mail,
rdewein@msn.com. I look forward to working with you.
